Opus Plasma Treatment

At Siragusa Vein and Laser, we’re always adding new, cutting-edge treatments to provide our patients with the best services the industry has to offer. The Opus Plasma™ is our latest addition. As we age, our bodies slow down the process of collagen production resulting in fine lines and wrinkles, while sun damage over time leads to brown spots and in some cases red pigmentation of our faces. The Opus Plasma treatment jump starts our bodies natural collagen production and eliminates pigmentation, resulting in dramatic results that our patients love.

Opus Plasma is an innovative, first-of-its-kind radiofrequency skin resurfacing technology that improves the skin’s tone and texture in as little as 20 minutes and requires minimal downtime. Opus Plasma represents the next generation of fractional skin resurfacing treatments for women and men of all skin types who want to minimize wrinkles and reverse damage caused by the sun and the natural aging process.

What Does Opus Plasma Treat

  • Fine Lines & Wrinkles
  • Laxity
  • Acne Scars
  • Enlarged Pores
  • Stretch Marks
  • Pigmentation

How Does Opus Plasma Work -

Opus plasma combines radiofrequency (RF) technology with microplasma energy to create microscopic channels in the skin. In addition, the Opus Plasma effectively removes damaged skin cells that build up over time, which in turn shrinks blemishes, and diminishes acne scars, pigmentation, and pore size. The body’s natural healing process responds to these microscopic injuries by increasing new collagen production which results in younger, healthy looking skin. The collagen stimulation and rebuilding process is crucial when addressing deep and fine lines, skin laxity, as well as skin color and texture.

What to Expect at my Opus Plasma Treatment

Prior to the Opus Plasma treatment, the skin is thoroughly cleansed by your medical professional. As is the case with most laser facial treatments, a topical numbing cream is applied to maximize comfort during the procedure. Once the skin is numb, your medical professional glides the handpiece across the skin, treating the entire face in about 30 minutes. Once the procedure is finished, we will apply a soothing protective balm to the treated areas. The opus is a very well tolerated treatment, even for those patients who are more sensitive.

Procedure Time

Procedure time takes between 20-40 minutes, depending on the area(s) being treated.

Recovery & Results

Opus Plasma delivers a level of customizability not found in traditional laser-based skin treatments. The intensity can be turned down to the equivalent of a light chemical peel, or turned up to a higher level similar to a deeper laser peel. The optimal treatment depth for your needs will be determined during your free consultation with our certified laser technician and medical professional. Because the Opus plasma doesn’t injure the deeper layers of the skin, side effects such as dramatic swelling are greatly minimized, resulting in shorter recovery times. Patients can expect 2-3 days of mild redness accompanied by a warm sensation similar to a slight sunburn.

Avoid sun for how long?

Following the first treatment patients can expect to see an overall improvement of skin tone, texture and tightening. A smoother, refreshed glowing appearance becomes visible after as little as one treatment; however, a series of 2-3 treatments is recommended for best results.
In order to provide the skin with sufficient healing time, your treatments are scheduled 4-6 weeks apart. To maintain best results, most patients follow-up annually for 1-2 treatments.
